Soren Boysen, DVM, DACVECC

Dr. Søren Boysen obtained his veterinary degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada in 1996, completed a small animal internship at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1998, and became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) in 2003 after completing his residency training at Tufts University in Massachusetts, USA.  He has taught at several Canadian Veterinary Colleges and is currently a full professor of Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Calgary, Canada.  He has received several teaching awards, published over 70 peer reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters on emergency and critical care topics and is an internationally recognized speaker. He is an active member on several committees for EVECCS, ACVECC, VetCot and various veterinary education committees. He has a particular passion for emergency sonography, hemorrhagic shock, perfusion assessment and veterinary education.
