Mrs. Fisher is one of less than 25 board certified veterinary oncology nurses in the world, with the AIMVT academy. Jenny spent 14 years as the head oncology nurse at LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, where she worked in the clinic as a medical and radiation oncology technician. Her teaching credentials include teaching senior veterinary students about chemotherapy safety and administration as well as cytology. She also lectured to veterinary technician students at Delgado University in New Orleans and was the clinical coordinator for the Baton Rouge Community College veterinary technology program. Her lectures have covered clinically relevant topics including animal restraint, oncology overview, lymph node cytology, closed system transfer devices, chemotherapy safety, nursing management of acute radiation toxicity and many more. Her main clinical interests include practicing and teaching safety in chemotherapy administration, radiation therapy, and integrative medicine. Jenny has spent time at multiple universities and private practices as an oncology consultant for veterinary team professionals and as a relief technician. She serves as a technical consultant for Practivet, an animal health company. Recently, she also started her own education company, Veterinary Oncology Technical Consultants, LLC. Jenny was the recipient of the 2008 Susan Weeks nursing excellence award from LSU-VTH. Jenny lives in Baton Rouge with her husband, stepdaughter, and a menagerie of pets.
